The students in the RCC Athletic Training Program have a unique opportunity to attend a sports medicine conference. This is in addition to their regular curriculum, and provides exposure to professionals in the sports medicine world that they would not normally have the chance to see.

This annual conference, Practical Applications in Sports Medicine, is scheduled for June 3-5th in Palm Springs California. We work hard all year fund raising to cover the costs so that there is minimal out of pocket expense for the student, and we travel as a group out to Palm Springs.

This year its about ”Ankle Injuries” & “Concussions” the Circle of Care. They will provide an educational journey taking the student from the onset of these injuries, to anatomy, evaluation & treatment, rehabilitation protocols and finally to bracing/protection and prevention.

We think it is important that our students be exposed to as many different sources of information as possible. This conference does that and more.
